Who is Jesus?
The most important question you will ever answer is what you believe about Jesus. Here is the simple truth of the Gospel.
The Good News
The word "Gospel" simply means "Good News." It is the message of who God is, what went wrong, and what Jesus did to make it right.
1. God's Design
God created everything, and He created it good. He designed us to have a perfect, loving relationship with Him and with each other. We were made to know God and reflect His character.
2. Our Brokenness
Instead of following God's design, humanity chose its own way. The Bible calls this sin. Sin breaks our relationship with God, bringing pain, suffering, and ultimately death into the world. We cannot fix this brokenness on our own.
3. The Solution
Because God loves us, He didn't leave us in our brokenness. He sent His Son, Jesus. Jesus lived the perfect life we couldn't live, died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins, and rose from the dead three days later, defeating death.
4. Our Response
God offers salvation as a free gift. Our response is simply to repent (turn away from our sin) and believe (trust in Jesus alone to save us). When we do this, God forgives us, makes us new, and restores our relationship with Him forever.
